Risk identification and prediction of venous thromboembolism in cancer patients is vital to provide improved quality of care. This study compares findings of a recently derived/validated novel electronic health record risk score to the Khorana score in a comprehensive cancer center. Li, M.D., discusses discrimination and calibration of the novel EHR score across different cohorts. He presents information on the potential use of the risk score to be used as a new standard for the selection of high-risk population for clinical trials and VTE monitoring.
