ISTH and EAHAD sign agreement to advance shared goals in hemophilia and bleeding disorders

The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) and the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) underscored their shared commitment to advancing care and research in bleeding disorders by formally signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Saturday, June 21, at the ISTH 2025 Congress.

The agreement solidifies a strategic collaboration to advance education, research and care for individuals affected by hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

“Strengthening the ISTH’s partnership with EAHAD marks an important step forward for the global bleeding disorders community, deepening our collaboration and building pathways for new initiatives,” said ISTH President Pantep Angchaisuksiri, M.D. “We look forward to working together to continue to advance science, improve care and make a lasting impact on the lives of patients worldwide.”

In addition to signing the agreement, leaders from both organizations held discussions to further define future collaborative initiatives. The agreement also offers the opportunity to align efforts to jointly address important scientific and clinical issues in the field and identify shared opportunities in research, education and advocacy.

“EAHAD is proud to continue and further elevate its collaboration with ISTH through our Memorandum of Understanding,” said EAHAD President Jan Blatný, M.D., Ph.D. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing education, research and clinical care in our field. We look forward to strengthening our collective impact on the global bleeding disorders community at ISTH 2025 and beyond.”

This agreement is part of the ISTH Collaboration Network—a global initiative that recognizes and formalizes partnerships with leading organizations in bleeding, clotting and related specialties. The ISTH Collaboration Network celebrates the shared commitment to advancing science, education and patient care through strategic collaboration and aligned global efforts.
