The TRiP (cast) score aims at predicting venous thromboemboli risk in trauma patients. This study discusses the stepped-wedge cluster-randomized trial and presents data from fifteen emergency departments of 2,120 patients. The presentation will discuss the primary outcome measure of 3-month cumulative symptomatic VTE rate. Safely withholding anticoagulation in individuals at a low risk for VTE led to reduction in overall prescription of anticoagulants.
